An adventure set in the lofty heights (and dangerous depths)of Hindu thought. Insider tips? Relax, dissolve your preconcieved notions & get chanting. And by the way, dont believe all that you hear! A rudimentary knowledge of Sanskrit, Tamil and a fleeting accquaintance with the puranas and other such texts might come in handy. Wisdom takes courage.

Rumi the Sufi
Sri gurubhyo namaha.
Lest all of you come to the conclusion that I am moved only by 'Hindu' poetry, I make a note of a couple of lines (that say ever so much) from the pen of the Sufi mystic Jalaludin Rumi!
"Poles apart, I am the color of dying.
You, the color of being born.
Until we breathe each other in,
there can be no Garden."
"I am bewildered by the magnificence of your beauty
and wish to see you with a hundred eyes.
My heart has burned with passion
and has searched forever
for this wondrous beauty
that I now behold.---
You have breathed new life into me.
I have become your sunshine and also your shadow."

Lovely verses - Contemplative.
The image inspired me to post a picture of the orion nebula taken by the hubble telescope. I see many things here....

@ K - Ya, that picture of Orion Nebula (and three other images as part of that series)are extremely spectauclar. I had originally seen them quite some time back with an article that discusses the image of God(the old bearded man)in the nebula and also discussed the physical aspects of Orion and the unbelieveable hypothesis that we are all spawns of that nebula!
You all know me and my connection to Orion anyway (Hampi?)so I believe it totally.Boom
my favourite rumi poem is this one which is one of the few poems he wrote in greek...
Where are you my master?
the dispenser of benevolence
and the moon-faced charmer?
I will say in Sarrazin who I am and who you are.
I came to you, friend
to be sacrificed for love,
and when I saw you
my desires were magnified.
If you give me a glass of wine, I'll be happy.
and if you abuse me, I'll be happy.
My lord, what you desire I desire
and I seek.
When I am drunk, listen to my babbling.
O Lord, help me in my chattering!
Where are you Chelabi*
Where are you?
Where are you, dear?
Where?
I have abandoned pride and principles,
console my heart!
oh, and i love his daughter's name... kimaya : )
